Local notes

Before we start in Freshwater

What can change a waterproofing job here, and what it means for you.

  • Who approves the work

Homes are split between apartments, mostly in walk-up blocks, and separate houses. Owners corporations approve balcony and common-property work; in a house the owner decides.

  • Salt air

More than half the suburb is close to the ocean. Salt air and wind-driven rain are hardest on balcony sills, drainage outlets and balustrade fixings.

  • Digging below ground

A small part of the suburb is mapped in the buffer class next to higher-risk acid sulfate soils. Digging deep there for a basement, pool or retaining wall may need a soils plan.

Why choose us

Why choose Sydney Waterproofing NSW

A licensed waterproofer who finds where the water is getting in, fixes it properly and backs the work in writing.

Check licence 260823C on the NSW register
  • A licensed waterproofer since 2013

Our NSW contractor licence 260823C is in the Waterproofing Technician class. You can check it on the government register.

  • The cause found before the quote

From your photos, or a visit where photos aren’t enough, we check the falls, the junctions and where the water gets in, so the fix goes to the cause.

  • Flood tested, with a certificate

Showers, bathrooms, balconies and flat roofs are flood tested before they are covered, and the waterproofing certificate comes to you when the job is finished.

  • Insured, and covered by warranty

$20 million public liability insurance, and the NSW statutory warranties: six years for waterproofing, a major building element.
